Through AlertNet™, NFSI transforms firearm safety from a reactive process into a preventative, community-wide protection system, delivering location-specific alerts, guidance, and reassurance when seconds matter most.

To support this mission at the source, NFSI also advances the Arms Recovery Unit Device (ARUD) a complementary technology that enables AlertNet by detecting and reporting verified firearm breaches at the point of storage. Together, they create a closed safety loop: detect, warn, protect.

NFSI stands in the common ground the place where those who demand reform and those who defend rights can finally meet. Our approach respects lawful ownership while strengthening public safety through accountability and smart design.

The National Firearm Safety Initiative (NFSI) is a Canadian non-profit dedicated to protecting families and communities through real-time, technology-driven firearm safety solutions.
Our primary mandate is NFSI AlertNet™ a national early-warning and advisory system designed to give people critical seconds of awareness when a verified firearm threat or breach occurs nearby.

We are not affiliated with any political party, ideology, or agenda. Our work is guided by one simple truth: every Canadian gun owner and non-gun owner alike deserves timely warning, practical protection, and a safer environment in every home and community.
